I just saw the story about your uncle on 60 minutes. As an American, I can only say "I'm so sorry". This should never have happened.

I just closed the covers of "The farming of bones" and I am... speachless. I just wanted to express my admiration and gratefullness for writing it. Although I'm only 18, I have lived through a similar experience, so this book touched me and reminded me of things I should never forget. Thank you.
I spent hours trying to look for a direct link to you, maybe your email or something but I guess I'm left with hope that you will read this one day.
All the best

I visited Haiti the 2 weeks Baby Doc was leaving.
I love your country very much and always have it in my prayerwheel.
I have not read all your books but in my ambling general reading of everything that comes my way, I have twice read the story of your uncle rescueing your cousin/sister. I almost felt I dreamt it.
My question is-Do you think, because of the nature of his death, he may have been tortured?
(I have been reading the Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein)
Also, I was thinking up a possible Haiti foundation and wondering if maybe converting present buses to hydrogen fuel celled transportation would be a good point of entry. Still living in my head.
